About moo cow

How it All Started
Moo Cow Ice Cream opened its doors in 2011, right here in a repurposed 1950s gas station in the heart of St. Simons Island’s Village area. What started as a little island scoop shop has turned into a must-visit tradition for both locals and vacationing families year after year.
Today, we’re known for our premium, house-churned, artisan ice creams — made with hormone-free milk, bold flavors, and a touch of whimsy. We've churned everything from Salty Turtle to Candied Bacon, Honey Lavender, Gorgonzola, and more. Some say we’re part of their vacation ritual — first stop when they arrive, last stop before they head home.
Our mission? Make people smile one scoop at a time.
What makes us different
-
House-Churned, Artisan Ice Cream
We make everything in small batches, using 14–16% butterfat and hormone-free milk for that rich, velvety texture you only get from the real deal.
-
A Little Quirky (In the Best Way)
We love experimenting with bold flavors. If you see Gorgonzola or Honey Lavender on the menu — trust us, just try it.
-
A True St. Simons Tradition
We’re not just a shop — we’re part of the island experience. Families take photos here, come back year after year, and proudly wear our t-shirts back home as a badge of honor.

“People tell us Moo Cow is their first stop when they roll onto the island—and their last stop before heading home to soften the blow of vacation being over.”
— Jody, General Manager
